Be Awestruck
Melbourne’s favourite winter event, Lightscape, has transformed Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne after dark, with a reimagined 2.2 km trail and brand-new installations, just in time for the school holidays.
The event runs Wednesday to Sunday, until Sunday 4 August, plus two additional sessions on Tuesday 2 July and Tuesday 9 July.
Visitors make their way along a winding trail through the Gardens’ landscape, awash in artistic lighting design. Along the way, they’ll encounter large lighting sculptures, colourful lighting effects and an accompanying soundscape.
What's New at Lightscape 2024
Lightscape this year includes all-new light installations, never seen in Melbourne before including the immersive Submergence, where audiences move through thousands of suspended lights as the installation shifts and changes colour.
For extra fun for the kids, nine of the installations have a pink question mark QR code that denotes an activity or a quiz question that relates to the installation.
And of course, the welcome zone will serve delicious food along with tasty treats on the trail, including toasted marshmallows!
Ticket Packages to Suit You
Ticket prices have not increased in 2024 and there are a range of options available.
These include family passes, anytime passes, group discounts and off-peak tickets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
There are also two relaxed sessions being held in July.
